Top Knot Worthy?

Walking around campus I see so many girls sportin' the "top knot" bun.
At first I kinda thought it was obnoxious. ( Please don't hate me)
I just normally don't style my hair so "big" or "different" to where it stands out.

My hair is normally straight down, in a baby bun, or straight back in a pony tail. BORING.
Well today I decided it was time to attempt this bold hairstyle.

Here's how it turned out:

Not sure what I think about it yet.

But I did find this FANTASTIC tutorial on how to style a "top knot" bun HERE.
I'm trying to find some cute and easy hairstyles to try, so if you have any you should totally share : )

Two Can Keep A Secret

I started my senior year of college yesterday.
Another year left. Pshh. This year really needs to fly by!
What made the day worse was that I'm sick.
Sore throat, fever, aches and pains. (You name it, I got it) Bleh.

But on the plus side TONIGHT I get to cuddle up on the couch with my two favorite pups & watch..

Are you going to watch the BetrAyal?

Sorry for the short post. Being this sick is exhausting and really drains the life out of ya.
Let me know if you're going to watch PLL tonight & what you think : )

I wonder who is going to betray the liars!?

DIY Fall Wreath

I'm so excited to share my new fall wreath with you. I always loved fall wreath's but never got around to buying one for my apartment. Then the other day I stumbled upon this cute DIY Winter Wreath, and decided to make it my own : )

This was super easy to make and there are endless amounts of color combos you could choose from to fit any holiday or season!

All you need is ..
A wreath ( I found mine at Hobby Lobby for $4.99)
Felt ( I chose to use 3 different colors, 1/2 a yard of each color)
Hot glue gun (Already had)

Start off by cutting all different size circles and then cut into a swirl pattern *shown above.
( They don't have to be perfect, I think it makes the flower look better when it's not perfect.)
Once you cut the circle, take the end with the smallest point and roll towards you.

Here are how my flowers turned out.

Then put a dab of hot glue to the back of the flower.

Last, hot glue the flowers onto your wreath.
* I found it looked fuller when you glued some of the flowers on the side as well.

Now mine is pretty plain, I like things to look simple, not super busy.
But you could add rhinestones, ornaments, leaves, etc.

Hope your inspired :)

Delicious Dunkaroo Dip

Growing up, one of my favorite sweet treats were Dunkaroos.
Little cinnamon cookies with the most delicious colorful icing to dip them in.
And just my luck, now that I'm craving them, they can't be found. (Except occasionally at the Dollar Store)

Then I stumbled Sam's post at Reddy Or Knot!
She posted the recipe for the Dunkaroo Dip. Eeeeek. : ) Pure excitement right here.
So what do I do? Go out the second I see her post.
Purchase the ingredients and start making the dip!

Dunkaroo Dip Recipe:

Ingredients:
1 Box Funfetti Cake Mix
1 Cup Lite Cool Whip
2 Cups Nonfat Plain Yogurt

Directions:
Mix all ingredients until no lumps.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (Overnight is preferred though)
Then share with your friends!

This recipe took literally 5 minutes to whip up.
You can dip animal crackers, cookies, or even pretzels!
So easy, so tasty, and perfect for family parties, or just a snack for around the house.

Enjoy : )

Sting Ray Reef

We had so much fun at the Aquarium yesterday. We were so busy having fun that we didn't really take that many pictures. Figures. But here are a few of the pics we did get! We ended up feeding the sting rays after dinner. This was such a cool experience, I would definitely recommend it for anyone who visits the
Kemah Boardwalk Aquarium Location.

Most are pictures came out blurry because the sting rays were jumping out of the water, which then involved all of us moving and screaming. Ha! But those were a few that came out : )

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Friday's Letters

Dear Fall, you can't get here fast enough. I'm ready for cold weather, cute boots, reasons to steal my boyfriend's hoodie, and all the tasty holiday Starbucks drinks I can imagine.

Dear Self, please let your creative juices get a flowing. Ha! Stop mainly posting baking recipes & attempt to change it up!!!

Dear Sister-in-law & baby nephew, I can't wait to spend the weekend with you, explore Kemah Boardwalk, and eat at the Aquarium. It's going to be a blast.

Dear College, I only have one more year left of you, please go by quickly. It's not me, it's you. I'm sorta kinda over you and really ready to go get a big girl job and look forward to bigger and better things.

Dear Ellie Bear, can you please stop jumping in the pool right before I let you come inside? Dirty puppy feet and wet dog don't really mix on white carpets. Please and Thank you.

Dear Boyfriend, thanks for not only putting up with my crazy dance moves & obnoxious singing in the car, but also for joining in! You're always a trooper and love that I can be myself around you. Love you for that!!

Dear Boyfriend's Family, I'm so excited to have dinner with y'all tonight!! I know we don't get to see each other often but when we do it's always fun : ) Plus, I love spending time with the people that mean so much to S.

Dear Bloggy Friends, you're all wonderful and I love that you take the time to stop by, comment, and tweet : ) I'm so excited that I joined this community and love all the friendships I have made through it!

Dear Disney, you need to make a channel specifically playing all the old disney channel shows and originial movies from the 90's. Zetus Lapetus.

Dear Friday Letters, This is new to me but I already love it.

DIY Dog Treats

So being the dog lover I am, I spend way too much money at Petsmart on dog treats! So I decided to give my bank account a break and attempt to make my own.  This recipe was super easy and actually really fun to make!

Ingredients For Dog Treats:
1 ¾ cups Whole Wheat Flour
4 2.5 ounce jars of Turkey Baby Food
½ cup Beef Broth

Combine all of the Whole Wheat Flour and all the Baby Food together.
Add the Beef Broth to the mixture.
Pick any cookie cutter that you want.
(My mom already had these, but I'm sure you can find these at Hobby Lobby)
Flour your hands and counter so that dough wont stick.Use a rolling pin to flatten dough.
Take your cookie cutters and cut out shapes.
Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown. Then let cool.

Now comes the fun part!
Homemade Dog Icing:
2 Tbsp of Cornstarch
Cold water
Food Coloring

Combine Cornstarch and Water in a bowl. Make sure icing is thick.
Then add desirable amount of food coloring.
Spread icing over dog treats.
Let your pups enjoy : )

Taste The Rainbow. Kinda Sorta.

Mmmm. I had a craving for something super sweet yesterday. So I thought I'd attempt to make homemade rice krispy treats! Well while at the grocery store, I bumped into my friend, Jill, from Lil Empty Nest. She came up with a great idea to spice up these treats! Instead of using rice krispies cereal, I should try using fruity pebbles cereal.

Brilliant. So of course here are my colorful treats & boy are they tasty!

I thought i'd share the recipe for Rice Krispies Treats.
*and show you what I did different with the Fruity Pebbles Cereal!

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
- OR -
4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal (* I chose to use Fruity Pebbles instead)

Directions:
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

2. Add Kellog's Rice Krispies (*Or you can add Fruity Pebbles, like me) cereal. Stir until well coated.

3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.

Hope you enjoy : )

Ohhh! I almost forgot. Let me know if you are going to ...

They added one more table & I found out I get to go! Wahoooooo. That is all : )

Summer Days.

Sorry I have been MIA lately!
I finished my summer school Thursday! Went to Dallas on Friday. Came to my parents house TODAY!! Phew, only 2 1/2 more weeks of summer left. Trying to cram all the fun festivities I can into this short amount of time.
So today my sister-in-law and nephew came over to swim and spend the day with my family, seth, and I.

Here was a fun little clip of our day today : )
Hunter, my 3 year old nephew & Seth swimming..

And of course with this Texas heat being unbearably hot, we gave our pups doggie ice cream : )

**The bottom left dog ( the super old looking one) is Hannah, our 16 year old family dachshund!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Coffee Addict

I would like my creamer with a little bit of coffee please.
So I have come to realize that I have obtained a coffee addiction while being in college.
And not just any coffee, Starbucks Coffee.
But I tend to do this thing no matter what food or drink it is...
I find something I like and then never order anything different again. Oops.
So I thought I'd share what my favorite and usual orders are ..

Drinks: Java Chip frappuccino with no whip cream & extra chocolate, or Passion Fruit Tea.
Food:  Either Artisan Bacon Breakfast Sandwich or a piece of Lemon Pound Cake.
(They taste delightful with their coffee)

Bobo & Ellie LOVE their puppaccinos .

So of course my purpose for writing this post was for you to suggest some of your favorite things at Starbucks that I should try!! So please share and comment below : )
