This week it seems like Texas decided to get its act together and actually become a tad bit chilly. So it's finally time to bust out those cute over sized sweaters and boots 
(In my case, moccasins)

Starbucks Lemon Pound Cake

Every time I go to Starbucks I have to order their Lemon Pound Cake. 
It's super delicious! It's like that cake that melts in your mouth, it tastes really refreshing with a lemon cake center, and tangy sweet icing to top it off.
Seriously, if you haven't tried it, YOU MUST. It goes great with both their hot and cold beverages.
So, because I love that cake so much, I decided to recreate it!!

 Starbucks Lemon Pound Cake:


Cake Ingredients:
1 box of yellow cake mix
    4.3 ounces of instant or cook and serve Lemon pudding mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
8 ounces sour cream
6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3-4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and spray 2 loaf pans generously with cooking spray.
2. Place all cake ingredients into a large bowl or electric mixer.
3. Beat ingredients until well combines, about 1 1/2 minutes. 
4. Divide cake batter between two prepared loaf pans spreading evenly. Bake for 45-55 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes before removing loaves from pans.
5. While cake is cooling, prepare icing, place powdered sugar into a large bowl. Drizzle in lemon juice stirring until smooth and thick. Should be a good drizzling consistency. 
6. Drizzle icing over cakes and let set for 20 minutes for a firm icing. Otherwise slice while still wet if desired.

our sweet girl, Miss Ellie Bear, graduated from her Beginner Puppy Class at PetSmart!

& no doubt, her face in this picture is PRICELESS.

Seeing Stripes

Happy Monday!!
So earlier this summer I attended the Houston Bloggers Symposium! One of my favorite shops that was sponsoring the event was the Striped Shirt Shop! Seriously, these are the cutest and comfiest shirts ever! As soon as I got back home I had to order one of their striped tees.

Friday Letters

Dear Hannah, I miss you. I miss you so much. You were such a sweet dog, companion, and friend. You were apart of our family and friend's lives for 16 wonderful years. You never failed to give us a good laugh, whether you let us put your ears in "pigtails," put you in my cat bag and drag you around, or wound you up to become ole snarly at Hailey. It's so sad to know you won't be there to greet me the next time I go home.  But what is so great, is that you lived such a long happy life. We will never forget you. Rest in peace, sweet girl.

Dear College, you made these last two weeks brutal. Stop it. Of course, I survived. Made it out alive and passed. Not only passed, but passed with flying colors. Now, please give a girl a break. There's enough going on right now, so please lighten the stress/workload.

Dear Hair, I must ask you a question. Is life better when being a blonde or a brunette?

Dear Paranormal Activity 4, even though people think you're stupid, or lame, or just like the last 3 movies. I have a different perspective. I think the movies before you were terrifying, and from your previews, you look just as scary. Please don't make me so scared I have to pee my pants in the middle of the movie. Oh! & please let me get a good night's sleep. ( Who am I kidding? I'll be watching Disney movies all night after watching that mess.)

Dear Blog,  you need a serious makeover.

Dear Birthday, I'm excited to see what's in store for you next week.

Dear Friday, I love you. Why, you ask? Because you bring this kid to me.

Evil Pumpkins


                                                         This   weekend Sethhykinsss & I went to the PUMPKIN PATCH! Of course, I took too many pictures. What can I say? He's a trooper. Or maybe he's just used to it. But either way, I love him for that.

I promised to give him full credit for Cruella's face. No way could I do that mess. Plus, I'm pretty sure we discovered that he is a professional pumpkin carver. Boy was blessed with skills. Ha.

Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls

Whoops. Took a little break there.
School is just kind of running my life right now.
Oh yea, and there's that whole "trying to become a certified wedding planner" thing too.

Anyways, I thought I'd share this delicious fall recipe!


2 packages/cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
4 0z cream cheese, softened
1/4 Cup brown sugar
1/4 Cup canned pumkin (Libby’s)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Unroll crescent rolls to form 4 rectangles placed side by side.  
Pinch seams together to form one long rectangle. (Like Picture Below)

2. Place cream cheese, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg into a mixer; beat until well combined.  Spread mixture over crescents leaving a 1/2 inch border around edges. 

3. Starting at long end, roll up the dough. 

4. Cut dough into 1 inch slices.

5. Place around 2 9 inch cake pans that have been sprayed with cooking spray.  *You can  leave the centers open so the rolls form a circle.

6. Bake for 28-30 minutes or until rolls are golden brown.  Remove and let cool for 10 minutes.  Frost warm rolls with cream cheese frosting recipe below.

4 oz softened cream cheese
1/2 Cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 Tablespoon canned pumpkin (Libby’s)

1.  Mix all ingredients into a large bowl until smooth.  Spread over warm rolls.

Peanut Butter Yogurt Pie

Creamy. Scrumptious. Delightful. Peanut Butter Yogurt Pie.
Oh, how I love you.

Rich Peanut Butter Pie, filled with Greek Yogurt, surrounded by Graham Cracker Crust, and topped with chilled Reese's and Chocolate Drizzle. Oh yes, I love you Peanut Butter Yogurt Pie.

No, I don't need a moment alone with my pie, thank you very much.

Let's just get back to the recipe.

Serves: 8-10 people
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: BAM. NONE.

          • 32 ounces vanilla Greek yogurt 
          • 3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
          • 9-inch crust of your choice (Oreo, graham cracker, etc.)

In a large mixing bowl, stir the yogurt and peanut butter with a wire whisk until blended. 

Spread into the prepared pie shell. 

Chop Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for extra flavor.
 Chill the pie overnight (the pie will be thicker the longer it is chilled)

Drizzle with chocolate or whip cream to top it off.

Fright Fest

Boo. Scared ya didn't I?
Roller coaster lovin'
High pitched screamin'
Awkard  picture takin' (because you never know when the camera is going to flash)
Adrenaline junkie. 

Yup. You guessed it.
That person is me.

We spent opening night at Six Flags Fright Fest. 
Zombies, creepy dead school girls, and blood sucking baseball players, were just a few of the creepy people that walked the streets that night.  

Unfortunately, the downfall of riding roller coasters is that your cute hairstyle gets butchered in about a matter of 5 seconds after taking off. So needless to say, i'd rather not terrify you with me and my roller coaster hair.

But here were some of the pictures we took this weekend!
