I still don't think it's hit me, but I purchased MY WEDDING DRESS yesterday.
MY WEDDING DRESS.
Isn't that something you dream about since you were a little girl?
Who you were going to marry. Where your wedding was going to be. What colors you were going to use. Who was going to be there. And of course, what your wedding dress was going to look like.
I can finally add that to my list of things to check off for the wedding.
I also surprised my bestiessss & asked them officially to be in the wedding!
Here's a little recap of our day!
First stop: David's Bridal.
This was not the best experience. We had made an appointment and my oh my there were way too many people there. I don't think any of us could really focus or take in the dresses I was trying on because we were so jammed packed next to all the other Bride-to-be's.
I also couldn't believe that all the dresses I thought I loved on paper, were not for me when I tried on. Let me tell you, if your short.. DO NOT GET A SUPER POOFY DRESS.
Next stop: Alfred Angelo.
We didn't stop to shop here. We went to see the Special Cinderella Diamond Collection.
There may or may not have been wedding cake to snack on..
Time for a lunch break. Cheesecake Factory it is!
Then it was time to surprise my girls with a little something something..
Last stop: Venturas.
I brought in one picture of the dress I wanted to try on. Turns out..
IT'S NOW MY WEDDING DRESS. Eeeeek!
I absolutely loved my experience at Venturas. They were all so sweet & devoted their time to you and only you. I would definitely recommend going there because they also have FABULOUS PRICES.

Want to see my wedding dress?
Surprise!!
You're going to have to wait until the wedding day!!

Wow that's great! Congratulations on your dress!
ReplyDeleteMy sister had a similar experience to yours for her dress. We went to a boutique first, and she fell in love with one. We went to David's, and it was seriously awful. Not a good experience there at all. She ended up going back to the very first place that same day, and bought the dress! We only ended up wedding dress shopping for her on the one quick day!
That's wonderful that you were able to find your wedding dress in one day! I'm small, and I'm so happy that I chose a slim and not a puffy wedding dress--the big puffy ones may be classic but they just would look silly on me, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteThat is so exciting, I'm so happy for you! My first experience trying on dresses was uncomfortable and gave me so much unnecessary anxiety {it happened to be at David's Bridal, too}, but the second was perfect! I found my dress at a smaller boutique and the entire experience was fantastic! It's just a shame we only get to wear it once.
ReplyDeleteOh I remember when I found my dress! Such fun. I can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteSo excited to see it! Eeeekk!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations pretty lady and engagement day twin! I know you will be beautiful!

Congrats!! I'm so glad you didn't buy at Alfred Angelo. I got my dress from there and it broke on my wedding day...not to mention how evil they were. YAY for good experiences :)
ReplyDeleteyay!!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see the big day!
annnd that's such a cute way to ask your girls!
David's is not the best, I agree! Those gifts for your maids, cuteeeee!
ReplyDeleteyay congrats! such a great feeling!
ReplyDeleteYAY, that is so exciting! I had a similar experience with paper/real life - the dresses I loved the most when I tried them on were the ones that I never would have looked at twice online or in a magazine! how funny :)
ReplyDeleteyaay! congrats! I had the same experience at David's Bridal - they were my first stop and it was the worst! So commercialized and they don't care about you as an individual! (well, that was my experience anyway!)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and it's too cute :)

Congratulations, you're too cute!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI discovered, as you did that what you like on paper verses what looks good isn't always the same. :)
Davids Bridal is pretty hit or miss. In my college town it was awful, but after we moved I was beyond happy with that local D.B. and we've had a lot of luck with them for 2 of my good friends weddings since. The key I found was to use them on week nights as much as possible. Because you're right, they get slammed on weekends!
What a special day!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the $100 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThat is the prettiest dress I've ever seen! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the $100 Amazon GC giveaway!
So much fun! I remember dress day and cake sampling with my friends. These are some of the best times of the planning. Congrats on finding the perfect dress!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how you asked them to be your bridesmaids - so sweet! I need to remember this in a thousand years when I decide to walk down the isle. Love it.
ReplyDeleteAwww so perfect love this!!
